Professor Ásgeirsdóttir teaches courses on the international political economy and international cooperation. Her undergraduate major was in journalism from the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Journalism. She then went to graduate school for political science at Washington University in St. Louis.
Research interests include international cooperation, specifically on who gets what in international negotiations. Her dissertation centered on how nations divide common resources, more specifically fishing resources in the North Atlantic.
