Bates College logos, or wordmarks, are available for download in EPS (encapsulated PostScript) format. They may be placed directly into page layout or word processing documents. Since EPS is a vector format, you may scale the logos to any size you may require.
Click on a logo to download the EPS file. Tell the computer to save the file to disk, and choose a directory to save the file to. Note: a strange bug in IE6/WIN causes the browser to use the file extension .ps. This will cause the file to be saved improperly. Be sure to use the correct file extension .eps.

There are certain rules that must be followed
Word For Microsoft Word, go to Insert / Picture / From File. Where it says "Files of Type" select eps (encapsulated postscript). Click on the file that you downloaded, and click INSERT. You may scale the logo to any size you require.
Web For web graphics, open Photoshop and go to File / Open. Choose the EPS file that you downloaded. You will be asked to give the file a size in pixels. Generally, 200 pixels wide would be very large; 50 pixels would be very small. For mode, select greyscale for a black logo, or RGB for a red logo. Save your logo as a GIF graphic by choosing File / Save for Web. Under Settings choose GIF with 64 colors.
