Rebecca M. Herzig

Rebecca Herzig holds the College's only full-time faculty appointment in
Women and Gender Studies.  She teaches a range of interdisciplinary courses on science, technology, and medicine, as well as Introduction to Women  and Gender Studies and Methods and Modes of Inquiry (two of the required core courses for WGS majors).  Her most recent book is The Nature of Difference: Sciences of Race from Jefferson to Genomics, co-edited with Professor Evelynn Hammonds, Dean of Harvard College.   Her current research concerns the history of body care in the United States.
