Dance Performance: Moving In The Moment. An evening of improvisational dance and music with contact improviser Nancy Stark Smith and members of the festival dance and music faculty. An annual crowd pleaser full of delicious suprises, hilarious vignettes and moving moments.

Concert: Bates Midsummer Lakeside Concert Series. Inanna, Sisters in Rhythm, an all-women vocal and percussion ensemble, performs traditional African polyrhythms. Free admission; attendees encouraged to bring blankets or lawn chairs for seating, as well as picnic suppers (Rain site: Olin Arts Center Concert Hall)

Informal Performance: Young Choreographers/New Works. An adjudicated, informal showing of more than 24 new works by talented festival participants from around the world. Faculty members will provide insightful, critical feedback throughout the afternoon.

Dance Performance: Student Finale. A celebration of diverse dance traditions. Come for an evening of modern, jazz and hip hop works created by Bebe Miller, Sean Curran, Kathleen Hermesdorf, Danny Buraczeski and Clyde Evans, Jr., all performed by festival students. Highlighting the program will be a performance by local youth participating in the festival's Youth Arts dance and music program under the direction of Jane Weiner. Admission: $5/$2. TOURS
Guided tours of the campus for prospective students and their families are conducted on the hour, weekdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. throughout the summer. Available on walk-in basis, the tours leave from Lindholm House on Campus Avenue. Interview appointments may be made with the Bates Admissions Office at 207-786-6000

Informal tours of the Edmund S. Muskie Archives, located on Campus Avenue, are available at no charge on a walk-in basis between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m weekdays. Phone: 207-786-6354
