Huffman Scores Three to Lead Connecticut College Field Hockey to 5-0 Win over Bates

2003 NEW LONDON, Conn. – Emily Huffman scored three goals and added an assist to lead the Connecticut College field hockey team to a 5-0 win over Bates in a New England Small College Athletic Conference game on Saturday afternoon. Huffman became the Connecticut College all-time leading scorer with the performance. Liz Lingo gave the Camels a 1-0 lead just four minutes into the game. Huffman scored the next goal, then assisted on a goal by Katie Williams before scoring again to give Connecticut College a 4-0 halftime lead. She added her final goal of the game with less than four minutes to play. Sarah Judice '06 (Granby, Conn.) made 10 saves for Bates, while Connecticut College goalkeeper Ashley Kenerson made two saves for the shutout. Bates fell to 2-11, 0-8 NESCAC on the season, while the Camels improved to 6-7, 2-6. The Bobcats wrap up the 2003 season against Bowdoin at home next Saturday. |
