Richard Hilliard visited South Africa and worked on a Bates-supplied computer at the St. Louis Primary School in Langa Township, near Cape Town. Colby-Bates-Bowdoin students studying in Cape Town on the CBB program have tutored and assisted at school, which has many needs, among which is a school bus. Rick has been setting up a Web site for the Class of 1956 - watch for it to be up and running soon.... Peter Hutchinson continues work on a thesis in historical archaeology at his home in Phippsburg and works on the excavation of Fort St. George (1607) at Popham.... Dick Short hiked this year in Glacier National Park and the Bison National Range. He recently represented Alabama at the National Directors Meeting of the Sierra Club in San Francisco.... Jessie Thompson Huberty recently joined June Ryan Gillette ’55, Ray Moffatt ’54, Joe Welch ’57, and Dodie Cosimini Maginnes to watch Dodie’s son, John Maginnes, play in the PGA Deutsche Bank Classic golf tournament in Norton, Mass.
