Women's Lacrosse Improves to 2-0 with Another West Coast Win

2004 CLAREMONT, Calif. – The Bates College women's lacrosse team swept their West Coast swing for the second consecutive year, defeating Claremont Mudd Scripps 11-7 to improve to 2-0 on the young season. Carrie Smith '04 (Chevy Chase, Md.) and Sonija Parson '06 (Washington, D.C.) both scored three goals and added an assist for the Bobcats, while Lori Jessup '04 (Hatboro, Pa.) also notched a hat trick for Bates. Liz Greenwood '07 (Williamstown, Mass.) registered a goal and an assist for for the Bobcats. Blair Thompson scored three goals and added two assists for the Stags, who fell to 0-2. Liz McNamara '05 (Plainfield, N.H.) made 11 saves to improve to 2-0 in goal for Bates. The Bobcats will have nearly three weeks off from competition when they return to campus. The team's next game will be the home opener against the University of New England on Mar. 11 at 4 p.m. |
