2003 Head CoachPeter Lasagna has been the golf and men's lacrosse coach at Bates since 2001. Prior to coming to Bates, Lasagna spent 18 years at Brown University, including the last eight as head men's lacrosse coach. He led the Bears to two Ivy League crowns and three NCAA tournaments. Lasagna is assisted by Bob Flynn, head golf coach from 1992 to his retirement in 1998, who brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the team. Lewiston native Jim Day, an outstanding amateur golfer, joined the Bates coaching staff in 2003. "Student athletes on the golf team will discover the benefits of consistent, focused work habits," Lasagna says. "They will discover how much fun it is to play golf at a very high level with excellent teachers and teammates." Lasagna and his wife, Holly, reside in Auburn with their son, Deacon, and daughter, Carmen. Flynn also lives in Auburn with his wife, Benita. |
