Head Coach Brett Allen

Brett Allen was appointed as the head volleyball coach at Bates in the summer of 2004. 

A 1996 graduate of St. Lawrence University, Allen has a master's degree in kinesiology with a focus in athletic administration/coaching from James Madison University. Allen is the co-founder of the Valley Vipers Volleyball Club in Virginia.

Prior to coming to Bates, Allen was an assistant volleyball and women's lacrosse coach at Washington and Lee University in Virginia for two years. 

As the assistant volleyball coach at Washington and Lee, Allen was directly involved in recruiting efforts as well as implementing practice plans and developing and adjusting team strategy throughout the season.  He was an integral part of two NCAA tournament teams which combined for a 67-12 record.
