Field Hockey Falls to Third-Ranked Middlebury

MIDDLEBURY, Vt. –
Ashley Lyddane scored three goals to lead the third-ranked Middlebury field hockey team to a 10-1 win over Bates in a New England Small College Athletic Conference field hockey game on Saturday afternoon.

Emily Read added a pair of goals for the Panthers, who improved to 11-0, 8-0 NESCAC. Allison Marshall '07 scored the lone goal for the Bobcats, now 3-10, 1-7. Allison Smith, Reid Berrien, Lauren Nicasio, Emily Enos and Nina Daugherty also scored goals for the Panthers.

Sarah Sprague '07 (Cleveland Heights, Ohio) and Sarah Judice '06 (Granby, Conn.) combined for 10 saves for Bates, which was outshot 39-7.

Bates closes the season against Colby next Saturday on Homecoming Weekend.
