Edited by Christine Terp Madsen '73

Class Secretary: Jean Lombard Dyer, 6 Western Landing Rd., Chebeague Island ME 04017

Class President: Webster P. Jackson, Apt. 520, 103 Brooksby Village Dr., Peabody MA 01960, wpvmjackson@verizon.net

Bob Archibald has been corresponding with two Pulitzer Prize winning editorial cartoonists, Ann Telnaes and Clay Bennett, through his new hobby of mounting editorial cartoons to be displayed at a nearby high school.... Norm Boyan says his golf shots have increased in number and decreased in length and accuracy. "I'm grateful just to get out twice a week and treat a steadily increasing handicap as my own version of par."... Thanks to a new pacemaker, Weston Cate is still quite active doing light chores in the barn each day, attending adult courses, reading, writing bits for the local paper, and getting ready for his 60th wedding anniversary. "Also, I am now a terrorist! If you don't believe it, ask the Secretary of Education, who said the National Education Assn. was a terrorist organization because it dared criticize the federal education law. Since I have belonged to the NEA for over half a century, I assume that makes me a terrorist. What a responsibility!"... Roy Fairfield continues to work on a series of autobiographical essays. ... Web Jackson and Gina are happily adjusted to the new, exciting stage in their lives at Brooksby Village, close to Wakefield and Ipswich, their previous home communities.... Jean Lombard Dyer works with the Estuary Project, Casco Bay Island Development Assn., and her church. She also volunteers at the island school where she lives.... "Guess I'm lucky," says Doris Lyman Krohmer, "because I feel great, am very busy in the church and town of Georgetown.... Helen Mansfield Eason loves her life in a small university town on the South Dakota prairie.... John Marsh addressed the local Unitarian-Universalist congregation in May, ostensibly on the Middle East, with a talk entitled "USA in the Foreigners' Looking Glass." He says, "It's no secret to anybody that I don't like what got us into this mess."... Watch out for George Menger-Hammond on the streets of Portland, Ore.! He cruises around on his Segway while Eve takes her walks. In fact, they got rid of their car, now that they have moved from the suburbs into downtown Portland.... Horace and Phyllis Hicks Wood are "hanging in there!" they say. Phyl makes children's quilts for a Rotarian project in Guatemala. Woody goes to meetings (conservation, library board, etc.) and reads a lot.
