Brian Arsenault has been appointed executive vice president of corporate communications and investor relations at NewAlliance Bank in New Haven, Conn. He recently ended a term as president of the Virtual Chapter of the National Investor Relations Institute, a chapter he helped found.... George William Nickerson has completed training at Hartford Hospital School of Allied Health in phlebotomy. The academic part was easy — he credits his Bates education — but he had to learn the latest techniques from his classmates. After all, he points out, it’s been over 30 years since his first job in the field.... Bob Thomas is searching for gold and other metals in Nevada and Alaska as part of the junior mining company he started, Toquima Minerals US Inc., www.toquimaminerals.com Meanwhile, Allison Murray Thomas continues as vice president of systems for GENCO in Pittsburgh.... “I’m retiring from the classroom, but I’m still a teacher,” Paul Williams told The Courier as he retired as middle-school science teacher at Profile School in Bethlehem, N.H., his final stop on a 35-year teaching career. “He’s such an unbelievable teacher,” said a fellow educator at Profile. “He’s so excited about everything he teaches. That’s the way he teaches, but that’s the way he lives, too.”
