Men's Lax Overpowers Plymouth

2005 LEWISTON, Maine - Winning the majority of face offs and groundballs, the Bates College men’s lacrosse team improved to 2-0 Thursday, beating Plymouth State, 16-6. Justin Simon ’08 (Canaan, N.H.) led the Bates with five goals and one assist, while Mike Medeiros ’08 (Concord, Mass.) scored four goals. Also scoring for Bates, Brian Frates ’08 (Woodstock, Vt.) notched one goal and two assists. Captain Pete Friedman ’05 (Putney, Vt.) scored two goals and co-captain Danny Ross ’05 (Chevy Chase, Md.) had a goal and an assist. Jon Kinnane ’07 (Little Compton, R.I.) also netted one goal and one assist. Plymouth (0-2) was led by multiple point scorers Pat O’Malley ’05 (South Windsor, Conn.) and Adam Krinsky ’08 (Concord, N.H). O’Malley scored two goals; Krinsky had a goal and an assist. Bates goalies Paul Kazarian ’06 (Providence R.I.) had eight saves in the first half while Peter Boston ’07 (Acton, Mass.) made 11 saves in the third quarter.
