Beating Utica, Men's Lax Improves to 3-0

2005 LEWISTON, Maine –The Bates College men’s lacrosse team improved to 3-0 Wednesday, beating Utica College 15-10 despite losing the majority of the face-offs and ground balls. Bates captain Pete Friedman ’05 (Putney, Vt.) led all scorers with five goals. Justin Simon ’08 (Canaan, N.H.) scored three goals, while co-captain Danny Ross ’05 (Chevy Chase, Md.) had two goals and two assists. Also contributing was Brenton Pitt ’06 (Duxbury, Mass.) with a goal and an assist. Keith McCormack ’06 (Watertown, N.Y.) led Utica, scoring three goals, while Matt Donaldson ’05 (Dexter, N.Y.) had two goals and an assist. Also scoring two goals for the Pioneers was Justin Schmidt ’07 (Whitesboro, N.Y.). Bates jumped to an 8-0 lead and took a 10-3 at halftime. At the end of three, the Bobcats led 12-7. Bates hosts Gordon College March 22, 2005 at 4:00 p.m. |
