In the last couple of years, Barbara Beverage has published two more delightful children's books, Easter Mice (Clarion Books, 2003) and Cat Skidoo (Henry Holt and Co., 2004), under her pen name Bethany Roberts. Each is a rhythmic story with colorful illustrations. Easter Mice is the latest in a series of stories about the energetic and mischievous holiday mice, which Publishers Weekly has called "a welcome balance between the real and the whimsical." Cat Skidoo was inspired by two kittens adopted from an animal rescue league.
