WORCESTER, Mass. – The Bates College rowing team qualified five teams for the ECAC National Invitational Championship Regatta Sunday at the New England Rowing Championships.

The ECAC’s double as the NESCAC Championship and will be held in Worcester, Mass. on May 7-8.

The Novice women’s 8 finished ninth overall in their competition, placing third in the ‘B’ final.

The other Novice team, the men’s 8 overcame the bottom seed in their preliminary heat to finish in second place in the heat. They placed fifth in the ‘A’ final qualifying for ECAC’s.

Both the men’s and women’s varsity 8 teams qualified for ECAC’s; the men finished 10th overall in the meet and the women qualified with the 14th and final spot in next weeks tournament.

The women’s second varsity 8 team also moves on to competition in Worcester, turning in a Bates' record in their event and finishing seventh overall.
