Latest NewsBobcats 37th at NEIGA Championship 10/19/ 2004 BREWSTER, Mass. – The Bates College golf team wrapped up the 2004 season on Tuesday, finishing 37th at the 70th annual New England Intercollegiate Golf Association Championship. Alex Jacobson '08 (Newton, Mass.) led the Bobcats, firing 81-82 for a 20-over par 163 to finish tied for 72nd. Dan Dodson '05 (Evergreen, Colo.) shot 81 in the second round, finishing tied for 132nd with a 169. Nate Purinton '06 (Toledo, Ohio) and Kevin Wells '05 (Waccabuc, N.Y.) both shot 172 to finish tied for 160th. Sacred Heart's Patrick Fillian defeated the University of Rhode Island's Ben Spitz in a playoff to win medalist honors. Both players shot a two-over 145. Bates had a total of 676 strokes. UConn won the team title with 606, with Bryant College and the University of Rhode Island tied for second with 610. |
