Latest NewsWilliamson and Seaton Combine for Five All-America Awards 3/12/2005
LEWISTON, Maine – Two members of the Bates College swimming and diving team received multiple All-America awards at the NCAA Division III Championships held this weekend at Hope College in Holland, Mich. Vanessa Williamson ’05 (Auburn, Maine) was All-America in three events: the 200-yard individual medley, the 100 butterfly and the 200 fly. She finished the 200 IM in 12th place (2:10.15) and took third and fourth in the 100 and 200 fly. She finished the 100 fly in 57.13 seconds and the 200 in 2:06.05. Kara Seaton ’05 (Wayne, Pa.) finished fourth in the 1-meter dive and sixth in the 3-meter dive. She scored 373.95 points in the 1-meter event, finishing less than five points behind Middlebury's Tessa Truex, who took first in the event. In the 3-meter dive, Seaton scored 398.20 points. All-America status is awarded to the top 16 finishers in all events.
