A Jersey boy at heart, Jack proudly grew up in the small beach town of Sea Girt, New Jersey. Searching for a sense of adventure outside of the East Coast, Jack’s college search led him to the University of Wisconsin–Madison. Despite falling in love with Madison, cheese curds, and the Wisconsin Badgers, Jack’s desire for East Coast comforts ultimately led him to transfer to Lehigh University in Bethlehem, PA after his freshman year. Jack went on to earn a B.A. in history from Lehigh in 2015. At Lehigh, Jack involved himself in a number of music groups, his most favorite being the Lehigh University Marching 97 and Symphonic Band. Having aspirations to inspire others and share his love for social studies, Jack ultimately went on to earn his M.Ed. in Secondary Education from Lehigh. As part of his graduate work, he completed teaching experiences in both middle and high schools around the Lehigh Valley. Finding that he loved to work with students—though perhaps not as their teacher—Jack decided to pursue admission work post-graduation.
Drawn to Bates for its revolutionary founding and inclusive ethos, Jack is entering his second year in the Office of Admission at Bates, and most enjoys getting to guide prospective students through the college search process and expose them to the best of what Bates has to offer. In his free time, Jack enjoys exploring historic landmarks, sampling as much ice cream as he can, and appreciating all that Maine has to offer.
