Senior Associate Dean of Admission, Director of International Enrollment

Scott’s initial attraction to college admissions was a natural complement to his interests in policy and storytelling. He remains in undergraduate admissions because of the reward and satisfaction from his work thus far. As a first generation-college student, Scott is committed to the cultivation of a diverse student body and advocates how the admissions process is a key point into opening doors and opportunities for social change.

Scott traveled away from the East Coast for the first time when he began recruiting for Connecticut College. Seventeen years later, he’s recruited in 61 countries (and counting) on 6 continents (sorry, Antarctica). After studying government and theater as an undergraduate, Scott earned a master’s degree in liberal studies at Wesleyan University. By joining the Bates admissions team, he’s completed the small liberal arts trifecta in Maine: Bates – Bowdoin – Colby. By the time he retires, perhaps he will have an affiliation at the remaining six NESCAC schools. In the meantime, as a Maine native, Scott serves as a local resource for area attractions. His favorites include the First Friday Art Walk, Back Cove trail, Saco Drive-In, food festivals, local theater, and any of the beautiful Maine beaches, especially Ogunquit.
