Admissions Counselor<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\nGrowing up in Cohasset, MA, Ned found a love for the ocean and mountains around New England, which sparked an interest in sustainability. Seeking a liberal arts education focused on environmentalism and the opportunity to pursue cross country and track at the collegiate level, Ned naturally found his way to Bates College. As a Bobcat, he majored in environmental studies and history and captained the cross country and track and field teams. Upon graduating Bates, thanks to leftover NCAA eligibility from the pandemic, Ned fulfilled a lifelong dream of competing at the Division I level at the University of Maine. There he pursued a graduate assistantship in the university’s business school, while attaining his MBA and competing for the Black Bears’s cross country and track and field teams. While finishing the final semester of his MBA, Ned launched a career in the run-specialty industry. However, upon reflection of his life changing experience at Bates, he pivoted and sought out an Admission Counselor role at Bates, where he will spread awareness about the Bates experience and help future students find their way to Lewiston. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
When off campus, Ned can be found lacing up his running shoes to explore the many beautiful roads and trails all across Maine. Ned continues his involvement with the sport of running, competing in races from the 1500 meter to the half marathon for Portland’s Valor Track Club and serving as a volunteer coach for Bates’s cross country and track and field teams. Additionally, Ned enjoys hours of meaningless chatter with friends while exploring the extensive network of coffee shops across Maine.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
