  • learning about an array of Bates programs designed to support students and alumni who come from historically underrepresented backgrounds or are the first in their families to attend a four-year college. Specifically, this an opportunity to learn about Bobcat First!

About the Presenters:

Leigh Weisenburger

Leigh Weisenburger is the Dean of Admission and Financial Aid at Bates College. She is deeply committed to Bates’ founding principles of diversity and inclusion. She is inspired by innovative, thoughtful, sincerely kind, and engaged and engaging students, faculty and staff.

Julisa De Los Santos

Julisa De Los Santos is the Associate Dean and Director of the Office of Intercultural Education. Julisa focuses on student development and students of color retention. She believes that the success of a student is determined by the support the student receives, both personally and academically.

Peter Casares

Peter Casares is the Head Swimming and Diving coach at Bates College. By adding both depth and diversity to his roster, he led the men’s and women’s team to top 15 performances at the NCAA championships in 2018 – a program best. He believes strongly in collaboration across campus, and the value of supporting athletes in all they do.
