Lisa Romeo \u201988<\/strong>\u00a0is Vice President at the American Arbitration Association\u2019s Boston Regional Office, responsible for recruitment of potential arbitrators, outreach, education, and business development for Commercial disputes in New England.<\/span> She also manages large, complex commercial arbitrations in Massachusetts. She is the national co-lead for Technology business development for the AAA and also performs outreach and education in the Cannabis, Insurance, and Franchise industries. Employed by the AAA since 1988, Lisa holds a B.A. from Bates College and a Master of Science in Management from Lesley University, with a focus on Institutional Development.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Dan Barsky \u201903<\/h3>

Daniel Barsky \u201903<\/strong> is a technology and intellectual property attorney at Holland & Knight LLP. His practice focuses on artificial intelligence (AI), intellectual property (IP), information technology (IT) and technology law. He handles complex transactions involving mergers and acquisitions (M&A), private equity transactions, joint ventures, and multinational development and licensing agreements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mr. Barsky advises clients on managing patents, trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets and data. His experience includes AI, brand licensing, blockchain technology (cryptocurrency and NFTs), software and technology licensing, and pharmaceutical and biotechnology development. He also focuses on maintaining and enforcing IP and technology portfolios, as well as overseeing multinational IP portfolios.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A member of the firm\u2019s AI steering committee, Mr. Barsky regularly writes and speaks on issues arising at the intersection of AI and the law. Mr. Barsky is the author of AI for Companies and Their Counsel (published by LexisNexis) and is the author and maintainer of the Lexis Practical Guidance AI Practice Note. Additionally, Mr. Barsky regularly presents at various continuing legal education classes pertaining to AI.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In litigation, Mr. Barsky represents clients nationwide in patent, trademark, trade dress, trade secret and copyright infringement, anti-counterfeiting, unfair competition, false advertising and online fraud cases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A member of the firm’s Emerging Companies and Venture Capital group, Mr. Barsky is involved in South Florida’s startup community, helping startups develop, protect, grow, monetize and enforce their IP and business assets. He advises on software licenses, user agreements, privacy policies, brand protection, monetization strategies, blockchain and nonfungible token (NFT) issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mr. Barsky is a registered patent attorney at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Lindsey Hamilton \u201905<\/h3>

Dr. Lindsey Hamilton \u201905 <\/strong>is an experienced neuroscientist, educator, and a proud Bates alum dedicated to advancing evidence-based, inclusive teaching practices. She was thrilled to return to Bates to be the founding Director of the Center for Inclusive Teaching and Learning in 2022. She led the Bates College team for the AAC&U Generative AI and Education Institute last year and has presented nationally on the intersections of artificial intelligence, pedagogy, and student success.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Tawab Safi \u201920<\/h3>

Tawab Safi \u201920<\/a><\/strong> is a graduate student at MIT Media Lab and holds an MSCS from Columbia University. Before that, he worked at multiple startups as an AI research engineer, building agentic AI systems for companies. He led the development of the first agentic prior authorization system, which is currently in production at a Fortune 50 health insurer. His previous research has spanned misinformation dynamics, LLM-based persuasion, macroeconomic finance, and development economics. Currently, he is interested in developing agentic AI interfaces for intelligent decision-making and is working on novel algorithms and systems to reduce information overload.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n
