Bates is embarking on a $45 million project to update two key athletic facilities and construct a new fitness and well-being center. A gift of $10 million from Jon W. Brayshaw \u201990, P\u201925 and Jocelyn Stoddard Brayshaw \u201988, P\u201925 has brought the college a vital step closer to construction. \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tMohammed M. Obaid Shwani \u201924 selected as Schwarzman Scholar\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/h2>\n\t\t\t\t\t

Mohammed M. Obaid Shwani \u201924 has been a world traveler and an award winner since he was a teenager. In 2016, he first came to the United States after being named an Iraqi Young Leader through a State Department program, then traveled to Bosnia to attend United World College on a scholarship before landing in Maine for college.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/article><\/section>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\n\n
