On Saturday, April 29, 2023, members of the Bates rowing team, alumni, parents, and friends gathered in Perry Atrium in Pettengill Hall to honor Ralph Sylvester \u201950 with a crew shell in his name. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sylvester christened the new rowing shell, and Bates Rowing Head Coach Peter Steenstra presented him with a blade during the dedication ceremony making Sylvester the only non-rower to receive one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
