Charles A. Dana Professor of English and Africana Ther\u00ed Pickens’ debut poetry collection,\u00a0What Had Happened Was<\/em>, was published by Duke University Press in March and featured in Down East magazine. This spring, Pickens was active with Maine Calling appearances, university talks, and interviews, culminating in an April 3 campus book party celebrating her book and her appointment as Charles A.
