Professor Laux’s research focuses on the role of innate immune cells in the tumor microenvironment. He is interested in understanding how a preneoplastic cell interacts with the leukocytes of the host to establish a clonal niche. Dr. Laux hopes that understanding the earliest stages of cancer initiation will lead to better therapeutics and the inhibition of cancer progression. This year, Professor Laux would like to teach courses on cell biology, cancer biology, and immunology.
