Confocal training<\/h3>\n

Training on the Leica SP8 confocal microscope is done by Travis Gould (Physics).<\/p>\n

Rebecca Dobbins ’16 studied fin regeneration in zebra fish using the Leica scanning confocal microscope for her senior thesis research.<\/p><\/div>\n

SEM and EDS Training<\/h3>\n

Our training approach grounds the student in the fundamental theory and operation of the systems so<\/p>\n

Greg Anderson, Assistant in Instruction in biology, works with bio major Ruth van Kampen ’19 of Brunswick, Maine, on the SEM in the Carnegie Science Microscopy Lab.<\/p><\/div>\n

that they can think through problems of sample preparation and use the technologies to their best advantage.<\/p>\n

Training in the use of the SEM\/EDS system is available by one-on-one tutorial with Greg Anderson or by taking\u00a0 Geo 223,<\/p>\n
