{"id":2178,"date":"2013-07-24T12:46:52","date_gmt":"2013-07-24T16:46:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bates.edu\/security\/?page_id=2178"},"modified":"2026-03-16T15:09:02","modified_gmt":"2026-03-16T19:09:02","slug":"automated-external-defibrillator-aeds-locations","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.bates.edu\/campus-safety\/emergency-preparedness\/automated-external-defibrillator-aeds-locations\/","title":{"rendered":"Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Locations"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Automate<\/strong><strong>d External Defibrillators (AEDs) are located throughout the campus.\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"attachment-266x266 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bates.edu\/campus-safety\/files\/2013\/07\/AED.jpg\" alt=\"AED\" width=\"181\" height=\"213\" \/><\/p>\n<p>AEDs are emergency medical devices used when a person is experiencing cardiac arrest, delivering an electrical shock designed to return the heart to its normal rhythm.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">AEDs are with Bates EMS and Campus Safety, and can be quickly brought to any individual in need of support. <\/span><b>In case of emergency, contact Campus Safety at 207-786-6111 or 911 immediately.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Additionally, Bates maintains a number of these devices in fixed locations on campus, as well as portable units with Bates EMS, Campus Safety and Athletic Trainers and Health Care Providers.<\/p>\n<p>Readily accessible AEDs are located in the following locations:<\/p>\n<p><b>Convening Areas<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bonney Science Center \u2013 45 Campus Avenue<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Chase Hall &#8211;
