\u201cI haven\u2019t declared my major yet. I am taking classes and exploring. I am here for break, visiting other people\u2019s dorms. It was really fun. I went for movie night with Dean Reese and other students. I enjoyed relaxing without classes. Commons was open so we could eat without rushing. I got my work done without pressure. Right now I am going to Commons to meet a bunch of friends for breakfast.\u201d<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

We are currently on the Historic Quad, the jewel of the Bates campus. The Quad is  filled with towering oak and maple trees \u2014 perfect for setting up a slackline or hammock \u2014 and is crisscrossed with paths where students meet and greet one another.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
