Here is my calendar<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">About<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Eric graduated from the Residential College at the University of Michigan with a degree in Philosophy. In Eric\u2019s prior work at Bates, he served as Coordinator for the Academic Resource Commons and Writing at Bates (Fall 2016 through Spring 2021) and Assistant Director of the Academic Resource Commons (Fall 2021 through Spring 2023). His primary goals in all of his work at Bates are focused on building collaborative systems and campus partnerships that support Bates students in their academic pursuits and support SASC\u2019s Peer Educators in their development as community leaders. Eric serves as a point of support for students who are seeking to improve their study skills, learning strategies, and executive function, both by meeting with students individually and by matching them with learning strategies tutors for additional support. Eric also facilitates study skills, learning strategies, and executive function workshops for classes, teams, and clubs. Co-delivered presentation discussing strategies to cultivate resilience which are effective for both faculty and students.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Workshop developed:<\/strong> Dyer, E., \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/1d5Jy3xa7ZSo6nklpBRYfDzvEWZPQ1Erm\/view\">Getting the Most out of Your Study Time<\/a>.\u201d 2024. After this workshop, students will be able to develop a plan for a study session, determine where to best put their focus for efficient learning in limited time, and choose among learning strategies to best fit the material.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Paper and panel presentation:<\/strong>  Melnick, A. &amp; Dyer, E. \u201cStudent Identity, Positionality, and Privilege in the Buddhist Classroom Abroad.\u201d Paper and panel presentation on eliminating barriers to participation in study abroad experiences for the Buddhist Pedagogy unit, American Academy of Religion Annual Conference. San Diego, November, 2024.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Workshop developed: <\/strong>Dyer, E., Huber, D., Edwards, S. \u201cAn Academic Plan \u2013 Why You Need One, How to Make One.\u201d 2023. Bates College. After this workshop, students will have a realistic understanding of the degree of agency and responsibility they have for their time as college students.
