Science coursework can be a major barrier for student academic progression, affecting student attitudes, performance, and retention in science. Mandeltort’s interests include implementing and assessing active learning techniques in large and small enrollment chemistry courses. Trained as a physical chemist, she also seeks ways to engage students in the process of communicating science both within and outside the classroom.
