Donation of Books from Elizabeth C. Haskell of Bath, ME

The program in Classical and Medieval Studies at Bates College would like to offer its thanks to Elizabeth C. Haskell of Bath, Maine, who has generously donated several books on the archeology of Cyprus to the program’s library.

Ms. Haskell and her husband produced documentaries for PBS and in the course of their work met Sir David and Lady Iro Hunt. Sir David was by training a Greek archeologist, but served in the military during the second World War. After the war, he served Great Britain as a diplomat. Lady Iro was a notable Cypriot and authority on things Greek. In addition to the books on Cyprus, Ms. Haskell also donated a biography of Sir David.
