{"id":84,"date":"2017-11-21T19:34:52","date_gmt":"2017-11-21T19:34:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bates.edu\/clubs\/?page_id=84"},"modified":"2021-06-21T22:59:49","modified_gmt":"2021-06-21T22:59:49","slug":"breaks-at-bates","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.bates.edu\/clubs\/funding\/sources\/breaks-at-bates\/","title":{"rendered":"Breaks at Bates"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Breaks at Bates funding is designed to support events and programs during break periods during the academic year. <\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">These events\/programs are coordinated by students and may include food that is aimed at bringing students together in meaningful ways.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Any individual student, student club, or student organization may&nbsp;apply for this funding.&nbsp;<\/strong>Please note that the Office of Campus Life requires a minimum of one week&#8217;s planning time for Breaks at Bates events and programs in order to accommodate logistical needs as they arise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a href=\"https:\/\/engage.bates.edu\/events?topic_tags=6567864\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">You may view upcoming Breaks at Bates events here.<\/a><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-bates-shortcodes-btn btn-wrap  is-style-blue\"><div class=\"btn-action\" id=\"criteria\" role=\"button\" tabindex=\"0\" aria-pressed=\"false\" aria-expanded=\"false\"><h3 class=\"btn-title\">Criteria<\/h3><div class=\"btn-arrow\"><\/div><\/div><div class=\"btn-content\">\n<p><strong>Applications will be reviewed by Campus Life based on the following criteria:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Proposed event\/program must be free and open to all. Events\/programs proposed to take place off campus will not be approved.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Proposed event\/program must be interactive, social, and alcohol-free.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If determined necessary for your proposed event\/program, staffing availability.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Other events\/programs on campus on the proposed event\/program date.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Events\/programs that provide late-night programming on weekend nights will be given priority.<br>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-bates-shortcodes-btn btn-wrap  is-style-blue\"><div class=\"btn-action\" id=\"once-youre-approved\" role=\"button\" tabindex=\"0\" aria-pressed=\"false\" aria-expanded=\"false\"><h3 class=\"btn-title\">Once You&#8217;re Approved<\/h3><div class=\"btn-arrow\"><\/div><\/div><div class=\"btn-content\">\n<p><strong>You are responsible for:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Ensuring the event\/program location is reserved via <a href=\"http:\/\/events.bates.edu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">events.bates.edu<\/a>. Breaks at Bates&nbsp;is a funding source, and does not function as space reservation.&nbsp;If the event\/program is not affiliated with a club or organization, please select &#8220;Breaks at Bates&#8221; as the reserving group when submitting your reservation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Publicity for the event\/program. The Breaks at Bates logo (provided&nbsp;in your approval email) must be featured prominently on all&nbsp;marketing materials, including but not limited to print, digital signage, and social media.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Planning and running the event\/program, including set-up and clean-up.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Completing the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/goo.gl\/forms\/pajQnPkMQvPwBVEg2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Event\/Program Planner Evaluation Form<\/a>&nbsp;after the event.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Submitting any receipts needed to be reimbursed.
