Feb. 22: Important Updates
As we begin our second week of classes, I write with just a two updates:
Dining, Conferences and Campus Events is pleased to introduce “Meet Me at the Mezz,” a new dining option starting Monday, Feb. 22, that provides a communal dining opportunity in Commons Mezzanine.
Through a first-come, first-served registration system, with specific etiquette rules, “Meet Me at the Mezz” will be available Monday through Friday during dinner at the following seatings times:
Please remember that you may only eat in your residence hall, outside; or through Meet Me at the Mezz in Commons. With a higher sun angle each day, outside eating is rapidly becoming possible in the favored sunny and warm spots that you know so well.
Eating, which requires being unmasked, in any other location than the above is a violation of the Public Health Agreement. Also, please practice physical distancing when eating.
More Outdoor Furniture is Coming for Spring
Students were welcomed in the fall with a number of inviting Adirondack chairs around campus, as well as additional bistro chairs and tables for both outside dining and classrooms. We also added high-top tables and chairs in the Library Arcade, and students enjoyed new benches and lounge chairs on Alumni Walk.
As the snow starts to melt, we will add additional bistro tables and chairs, and augment the Library Arcade with additional high-top tables and chairs. We will also be adding numerous picnic tables across campus to improve outdoor eating — both traditional and high-top tables, as well as a few with some “pops” of color that we think students will enjoy.
