The VizLab<\/a> occupies the northern half of the ground floor at Coram Library. It is a space for new and emerging 3D technologies and digital fabrication.\u00a0Resources are available to support the curricular and scholarly work of the Bates faculty and students. Support ranges from individual and small group consultation, to in-class workshops, to collaborating on research projects with faculty.<\/p>\n

The main workroom in the VizLab<\/a> features three 3D printers, a Laser Cutter, a powerful Mac Studio for complex 3D modeling tasks, and doubles as a classroom and teaching space for small groups.<\/p>\n

The VizLab also has three smaller workrooms dedicated to Virtual Reality and Computing, with powerful PC desktops and an array of VR\/AR headsets including the Meta Quest Pro and HTC Vive XR Elite.<\/p>\n

VizLab staff are generally available for drop-in appointments between 8:30AM and 4:30PM, or email us<\/a> to get started on your project.<\/p>\n
