This workshop begins in Afro Latinx dance forms at 11-12 and ends in Hip Hop from 12-1. Elmer’ class will be the journey from Afro Latinx forms from various cultures (he is of Dominican, Puerto Rican descent) and moves through time, place, music, and moves, to hip hop. He will lead a journey through the music as he goes.
Elmer Martinez describes himself in brief:
My background in afro-diasporic movement rooted in latin ballroom, improv, musical theater and street/club dance has been a highlight of my artistic teaching and performance career. I hope you enjoy this snap shot of some of my recent experiences and education.
