Services & FAQ’S

Commons Dining

We recognize that student’s schedules and dining preferences vary from day to day, therefore, we have structured a flexible schedule to accommodate all our students. With meals served throughout the day and bag lunches available for those not able to dine in Commons, a nineteen meal per week plan with unlimited repeats is guaranteed to all the students on the meal plan.

Meeting & Tabling Spaces

Commons serves as home to the dining hall and multiple meeting and dining spaces which can be reserved through EMS. This broad range of rooms allows students to meet with friends and peers, faculty and organized groups in a comfortable setting. Designated tabling spaces can also be reserved through EMS.

Dining System

Each student on the meal plan gains access to Commons through swiping his/her Bates ID. Every student on the meal plan also has three bonus meals per semester to be used for him or herself over a break or for a guest at any time.  For more information about break periods click here.  Those not on the meal plan can eat at Commons by paying at the door.
