Learning to navigate Commons makes the experience better for everyone<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Get Ready To Grab &amp; Growl Bobcats!!<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p><b>G<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">et prepared &#8211; check the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/netmenu2.cbord.com\/NetNutrition\/1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">menu<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> ahead of time and remember your ID.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p><b>R<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">educe waste.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Thoughtfully select your meal.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\r\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hold your plate close to pans to avoid dropping food on counters.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\r\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Try a small amount of unfamiliar dishes, and come back for seconds if you like them.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p><b>A<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">lways get a clean plate when coming back for seconds.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p><b>B<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">e conscious of others\u2019 allergies. Don\u2019t share serving utensils between foods and respect designated equipment.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p><b>&amp;<\/b><\/p>\r\n<p><b>G<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">et to know the Commons staff!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p><b>R<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">espect the environment and the dish crew by sorting liquids, silver, trash and compost at the tray window. A friendly \u201cThank You\u201d on your way out means a lot to the team.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p><b>O<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ffer helpful feedback &#8211; leave a napkin, send a virtual napkin or communicate with the DCCE Food Advisory Committee.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p><b>W<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">elcome others to your table. You never know who you might meet.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p><b>L<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">eave the black mugs in Commons! Bring your own reusable beverage container instead. Taking black mugs out of Commons may be convenient for <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">you <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">but it creates problems for Commons staff and shortages for fellow diners.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Be Respectful \u00a0 * \u00a0 Be Responsible\u00a0 * \u00a0 Be Safe<\/span><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-13018 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bates.edu\/dining\/files\/2022\/03\/Adventures-in-Dining-Logo.webp\" alt=\"\" width=\"210\" height=\"221\" \/><strong><span style=\"color: #800020;\">Join DCCE for our upcoming Adventures in Dining!<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li><strong><span style=\"color: #800020;\">April 22 &#8211; Late Night Breakfast:<\/span><\/strong> take a break to fuel your studies with some breakfast brain food.\u00a0<\/li>\r\n<li><strong><span style=\"color: #800020;\">May 7 &#8211; Bates Iron Chef Competition:<\/span><\/strong> an annual student culinary competition hosted by Dining, Conferences and Campus Events. This year\u2019s competition will take place on May 7th from 5:30pm &#8211; 7:00pm and is an opportunity for participants to showcase their creative talents using only ingredients found in Commons.
