Inclusive Pedagogies Portal

The use of inclusive pedagogies, high impact practices, and evidence-based practices are two central aspects of how we define teaching excellence at Bates. There are many staff across many organizations at Bates who support pedagogical development for educators at Bates. This page lists some of the resources that relate to inclusive pedagogies in the classroom.

Pre-Course Connections: Creating an inclusive cohort and accessible learning experiences are key to the success of any course, both because individual students feel more invested and a community of learners is fostered.

Anonymous Assessment: This page points to tools that allow students to offer anonymous class contributions (using software, questionnaires, or other assignments), one strategy for more equitable and inclusive learning experiences.

Resources from Curricular and Research Computing: A Lyceum site originally prepared for the 2020-21 academic year. The resources on it are centered around the use of inclusive pedagogies.

Resources from Accessible Education: An array of resources that may be helpful faculty in facilitating access for students. This page includes information on inclusive course design.

Inclusive Pedagogy Resources from Institutional Research: A selection of resources from the comprehensive list created and curated by the Learning Assessment Specialist in the Office of Institutional Research, Analysis, and Planning.
