Teaching in AY 20-21

Resources for teaching in-person and remote in the 2020-21 academic year

Bates College is a national leader in delivering an exceptional liberal arts education to a diverse and talented community of students regardless of the modality of our teaching. Given our need for multiple modes of teaching in the coming year, academic support at Bates, including ILS, the DOF, and Accessible Education are providing a curriculum for faculty focused on pedagogies that are proven to be effective given public health recommendations. The faculty development sessions below which cover in-person, mixed, and remote modes of instruction will be presented digitally to faculty this summer, will be offered synchronously and asynchronously, and will cover topics such as equity and inclusion, course design, reworking assignments, community engaged learning, etc.

ILS has pulled together resources for those with questions about remote exams

The remote teaching resources assembled in March of 2020 can be found here.
