Students benefit significantly from working with faculty who actively seek to help them translate their knowledge and skills to professional contexts. There are also tools specifically for syllabus design: <a href=\"http:\/\/udloncampus.cast.org\/page\/planning_syllabus\">Universal Design<\/a>, including sample syllabi (CAST); <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bates.edu\/research\/files\/2018\/07\/Mailman-School-Syllabus-Toolkit.pdf\">Syllabus Development Toolkit<\/a> (Columbia University); and over 7 million sample syllabi in the <a href=\"https:\/\/opensyllabus.org\/\">Open Syllabus<\/a> database. In discussing learning outcomes and course goals, Bloom\u2019s Taxonomy is a common framework for incorporating multiple levels of thinking and engagement, a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.apu.edu\/live_data\/files\/333\/blooms_taxonomy_action_verbs.pdf\">list of verbs<\/a> for each level is a helpful reference when creating course materials.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-bates-shortcodes-btn btn-wrap\"><div class=\"btn-action\"><h3 class=\"btn-title\">ILS Curriculum and Research Computing (CRC)<\/h3><div class=\"btn-arrow\"><\/div><\/div><div class=\"btn-content\">\n<p><strong>CRC <\/strong>oversees a handful of specialized computing spaces on campus, including the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bates.edu\/digital-media\/\">Digital Media Studios<\/a>.
