Performance on the test helps us assess\u00a0preparation for college-level courses that include quantitative content. A student&#8217;s score, along with a statistical analysis of the set of scores of all incoming students, is sent to the\u00a0adviser so that\u00a0they\u00a0can advise more effectively about\u00a0academic work at Bates. In addition, all students\u2019 scores\u2014after the names of the students have been removed\u2014will be used as a baseline by Bates College as we assess general education\u00a0requirements.
