Eshita Samajpati

Visiting Assistant Professor,
Earth and Climate Sciences
Carnegie Science Hall, Room 313

Eshita Samajpati studies the geochemistry of minerals and volcanic rocks. Her current research is on the early magmatic evolution of the Izu Bonin Mariana arc, where she studies drilled ocean rocks and minerals to understand a part of the subduction history.  She will be teaching EACS 104 – Plate Tectonics and Hazards/Lab and an upper division course EACS 308 – Marine Geology and Geochemistry in the fall and Earth Materials in the winter. Her primary research interest is in the chemical evolution of earth and volcanoes through time and how we can apply and improve analytical methods in understanding these processes.
