Organization: L’Ecole Francaise Du Maine

Location: 99 South Freeport Road, South Freeport, Maine

Position Title: French Immersion Intern

Day And Time: TBD

Position Description: L’Ecole Française du Maine offers an educational experience entirely in French, instilling students with a constant curiosity towards foreign languages and the diverse cultures of the world. EFDM believes that it is through play, actions and the search for independence that each child discovers his/her unique path to learning and obtains the necessary tools for development. The children are encouraged to express themselves freely in French and through various art forms, helping them boost their confidence and their knowledge. It’s through this commitment to language and culture that EFDM is able to provide a diverse, mind-opening educational experience in an atmosphere of understanding and discovery. The French Immersion intern will assist in a French language elementary classroom. The intern must be French proficient and will need use of a car. The day and time of the internship depends on the interests and skills of the intern and will be determined in consultation with the site supervisor.

 

Organization: Lewiston High School Aspirations Lab

Location: Lewiston High School 156 East Avenue Lewiston, ME  04240

Position Title: Aspirations Intern

Day and Time: During normal school hours; specifics TBD in conjunction with supervisor

Position Description: The Aspirations Intern works with 9th-12th graders to develop a post-secondary plan. Developing a plan includes completing self-discovery activities that will identify specific careers, college majors and post-secondary learning institutions that meet individual needs. In addition to the discovery process, interns will support students with academic success planning, completing financial aid, scholarship application activities, and standardized testing preparation.
