Dunham, Sr. \u201932 Literary Award<\/strong>&nbsp;is given to a graduating English major who has&nbsp;displayed excellence in the study of English or American Literature.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;<strong>Farnsworth Poetry Prize<\/strong>&nbsp;is given to a graduating senior in recognition of excellence in the&nbsp;composition or analysis of poetry.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;<strong>William Hartshorn English Literature Prize<\/strong>&nbsp;is given to the member of the senior class who&nbsp;has attained the highest average rank in English literature during the junior and senior years and is&nbsp;designated by the chair of the English Department.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;<strong>John Tagliabue Prize for Creative Writing<\/strong>&nbsp;honors excellence in creative writing and is given&nbsp;to a student or students whose work in poetry or prose is judged the most outstanding by faculty in&nbsp;the Department of English.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The\u00a0<strong>Alice Jane Dinsmore Wandke Award<\/strong>\u00a0is given annually to a woman<sup>*<\/sup> in the sophomore or first-year class who the English Department believes excels in creative work in either prose or poetry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><sub>*<\/sub><em><sub>The English Department updates this prize to include all eligible female-identifying and gender nonbinary students.<\/sub><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The&nbsp;William H.
