{"id":194,"date":"2010-09-07T14:43:28","date_gmt":"2010-09-07T14:43:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hub-dev.bates.edu\/campus-improvements\/?page_id=194"},"modified":"2018-12-07T13:26:02","modified_gmt":"2018-12-07T18:26:02","slug":"milestones-completed","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.bates.edu\/facility\/campus-improvements\/milestones-completed\/","title":{"rendered":"Milestones completed"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>December 2003:<\/strong> Most meetings with members of the Bates community were completed.\u00a0 Sasaki conducted on-site audits of most College buildings and facilities, and finished updating information in the comprehensive database.\u00a0 Most facilities were coded and classified according to contemporary standards.\u00a0 Sasaki shared some\u00a0preliminary findings about the condition of various facilities with the Steering Committee.\u00a0 Some benchmarking information\u00a0about how Bates compares against selected peer institutions was shared.<\/p>\n<p><strong>January 2004: <\/strong> Data-gathering and analysis continued.\u00a0 Sasaki shared its findings in meetings with the Steering Committee, the Bates Senior Staff, and the Board of Trustees.<\/p>\n<p><strong>May 2004:<\/strong> Presentations of alternative preliminary campus plan drawings were made to various campus constituencies and to the Board of Trustees.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Summer 2004: <\/strong> Campus and Trustees feedback was reviewed and several alternative campus concepts were consolidated into a single broad vision. The Master Planning team divided up into two working groups (residential life\/campus center\/dining, and academic\/administrative\/athletics)\u00a0to fine-tune and help prioritize some of the details behind the preferred concepts.<\/p>\n<p><strong>September 2004: <\/strong> Sasaki reworked the\u00a0Master Planning team&#8217;s refined vision for the Master Planning Steering Committee.<\/p>\n<p><strong>October 2004:<\/strong> Presentations of the refined Campus Facilities Master Plan were made to the Bates community and to the Board.\u00a0\u00a0It was adopted\u00a0by the Board.\u00a0Design boards were placed on public display in Ladd Library.
