Mentors

As faculty develop career plans, we value both agency and responsibility. We believe that faculty should have the agency to develop short and long-term plans of their own design that allow them to conduct teaching and scholarship and contribute to the work of the college in creative ways that align with their own personal goals. However, we also believe that faculty have responsibilities that contribute to the collective goals of the college. Those responsibilities provide a framework by which a career plan can be developed in accordance with the faculty handbook. We also believe that many members of the faculty may benefit from discussing these plans with colleagues who are willing to serve as mentors.
