Luc Bonhomme is a Visiting Assistant Professor of Francophone Studies. His research explores the postcolonial bourgeoisie and its legacy across Sub-Saharan Africa, the Caribbean, and France. Working across postcolonial theory, environmental humanities, and cultural studies, he examines how literary and cinematic works give shape to ecological destruction and uneven spatial power. His current conceptual framework brings Rob Nixon\u2019s notion of slow violence into dialogue with \u00c9douard Glissant\u2019s poetics of relation, formulating a geopoetics of collective indignation that centers marginalized voices within degraded environments.<\/p>\n
Grounded in the critical genealogies of Frantz Fanon, Achille Mbembe, Pierre Bourdieu, and Didier Eribon, Bonhomme’s scholarship addresses affect theory, necropolitics, and the aesthetics of disgust. His work draws on ethnographic fieldwork in Jacmel, Haiti, and spans both academic prose and poetry.<\/p>\n
