{"id":7140,"date":"2025-05-07T18:58:07","date_gmt":"2025-05-07T22:58:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bates.edu\/faculty\/?p=7140"},"modified":"2026-01-26T09:50:37","modified_gmt":"2026-01-26T14:50:37","slug":"asha-tamirisa-interviewed-by-the-portland-press-herald","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bates.edu\/faculty\/2025\/05\/07\/asha-tamirisa-interviewed-by-the-portland-press-herald\/","title":{"rendered":"Asha Tamirisa interviewed by the Portland Press Herald"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Assistant Professor of Music Asha Tamirisa <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pressherald.com\/2025\/04\/10\/chronicle-of-a-fall-showcases-bates-colleges-immersive-media-studio\/\">spoke to the <em>Portland Press Herald<\/em> about the IMStudio<\/a>, a flexible high-tech space in Coram Library that recently hosted a multimedia project called <em>Chronicle of a Fall<\/em>, which depicts the layered sensory experiences of immigrant workers in the United States using projections, bodycam footage and surround sound. Co-created by artists Nadav Assor and Tirtza Even, <em>Chronicle of a Fall<\/em>, which ran from April 3 to May 2, 2025, is a prime example of the kinds of creative works Tamirisa and her colleagues in the Bates Arts Collaborative hoped to bring to Bates when they were advocating for and planning a multimedia studio on campus.
